Spoiler Alert: This co*cktail can be served by the pitcher #gamechanger
Once upon a time, I hosted a blogger event at my former home in Houston, TX. The theme was "Tequila" and this Blueberry Basil Margarita was the star of the show. Not only was it beautiful, but it tasted incredible. And guess what? It was really easy to make!
I was so pumped to share the recipe with y'all on my blog. And then, I lost the recipe (gasp), or so I thought. Recently, I was going through some old notes on my phone from a few years ago and found the recipe card! Hallelujah!

Ingredients: What's in a Blueberry Basil Margarita?
As a former bartender who knows how to make a DAMN GOOD drink, I honestly can't take credit for creating this delicious Blueberry Basil Margarita. But I can take credit for recognizing a DAMN GOOD drink. The original recipe is compliments of my friend Chanelle, who just so happens to be a pretty awesome liquor rep. She introduced me to this refreshing tequila co*cktail recipe on a hot summer day and I've been hooked ever since. This blueberry basil margarita is the perfect balance of sweet and savory and it's definitely worth giving it a try!
So what's in a Basil Blueberry Margarita? Let's see:
Tequila (of course) - For this recipe, Blanco tequila or silver tequila works best.
Agave Nectar - the sweet to balance out the acidity of the
Fresh Blueberries - for that amazing blueberry flavor!
Fresh Lime Juice - to give it that citrus-y kick
Vanilla Essence - for a little bit of depth and sweetness
Fresh Basil Leaves - because basil makes everything better!
Sugar or Kosher Salt - to rim the margarita glass
When to Make This Blueberry Basil Margarita
Is anytime an acceptable answer? Because that's my answer. Just kidding, but really this co*cktail is perfect for any occasion! Here are a few ideas:
Girl's Night In
Pool party
Summer BBQ
Fourth of July Party
Taco Tuesday (or any day of the week!)
Can This Basil Blueberry Margarita Be Made By the Pitcher?
Is water wet? Of course, it can! This co*cktail is easily scalable and can be made by the pitcher for a large group or party. Skip the co*cktail shaker and simply multiply all of the ingredients by the number of servings you need, then muddle and mix everything together in a pitcher. Right before serving, rim each glass with sugar or kosher salt and fill with ice.
Tools You'll Need to Make This Recipe
Here are a few essential tools you’ll need to make the DAMN GOOD Blueberry Basil Margarita recipe:
As a former bartender, I can attest to the importance of having the right tools for the job. And when it comes to making craft co*cktails, this Mixology and Craft co*cktail Starter Kit has everything you need to get started: a stainless steel Boston co*cktail Shaker, strainer, and a 2-sided jigger helps you to get the perfect pour every time. Trust me, this kit is a must-have for any budding mixologist. Cheers!
For this basil blueberry margarita, you'll need a good set of Rocks Glasses because the right glassware can really make a difference when it comes to enjoying your favorite co*cktail.
Don't forget to add to your cart, this lovely and useful wooden salt rimmer.
A Citrus Juicer is a must-have for making DAMN GOOD co*cktails and can be of great help when preparing guacamole too!
A 2-sided Jigger is a must-have for any home bar, but it really shines when you're making margaritas. The 2 sided design ensures that your drinks are always served with exactly the right amount of alcohol each time!
The Muddle is truly the secret weapon and workhorse of this recipe (and any good bartender's repertoire). I personally own this stainless steel muddle and it works like a charm.
Last but not least, make sure to elevate your co*cktail garnish game to a whole new level with this 15-piece metal co*cktail pick set.
